protecting the privacy of your personal information. This privacy
policy outlines the safeguards employed to protect your personal
information and explains how Dealers collect and use that
information. Under no circumstances will we sell or share any
personal information about you to or with any person or organization
except: as authorized by you; to participating Lenders, Affiliates,
and/or Automobile or Other Dealerships herein after called "Lender(s)",
involved in your loan transaction; or as may be required by law or
court order. We recognize the importance of your trust, and we
greatly appreciate your business. Please read the following privacy
policy.
Who is Dealer
Assist?
Dealer Assist, Inc. is a third-party service providers to merchants
including, but not limited to, auto dealerships; motorcycle, RV, or
Watercraft dealerships, etc. We merely provide the web-based
interface enabling consumers seeking auto loan financing,
refinancing and/or auto leasing the ability to apply online with the
confidence that comes with our use of a completely secure and
private submission process. All data is submitted by the
consumer is received directly and exclusively by the Dealer whose
site you are applying through and to absolutely no others.
Data
Collection:
In order to match you with an appropriate Lender, you will provide
certain personal information such as name, address, e-mail address,
social security number and income to the Dealer in question.
This and other information such as your credit history and credit
score may/will be obtained directly and exclusively by the Dealer
whose site you are applying through. Then, the Dealer will
then provide part or all of the submitted data to certain
participating auto Lenders for a potential loan/lease decision.
Data Sharing:
Dealer Assist, Inc. does not collect nor use the information you
provide for any purpose whatsoever, but the Dealer may/will use the
information you provide, as well as information from other sources
such as your credit report, to match you with an appropriate auto
Lender. Dealers will never share your personal
information until you instruct them to do so. All potential
Lenders are required to comply with the federal privacy laws;
however, we suggest you review their privacy policies before
entering into a loan transaction with them. Finally, in
certain situations the Dealers may be required to share your
information with law enforcement or government agencies in response
to a subpoena, state or federal audit, or other similar
circumstances.
Safeguards:
Dealer Assist
uses extensive and sophisticated secure technology to protect your
data and transmissions between you and the Dealer. Any
transmission between browsers and our web server is implemented
using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. This technology
requires an SSL-capable browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer
version 5.5 (or later) or Netscape Navigator version 4.7 (or later).
Since ensuring your information is secure is important to us,
transmissions between Dealer Assist and participating Dealers are
encrypted using public key cryptography algorithms with a minimum
key size of 128 bits. Also, Dealer Assist maintains physical,
procedural, and electronic safeguards to protect your information
from unauthorized access.
Data Retention:
Again, all submitted information goes exclusively and directly to
the Dealer. Dealer Assist does not collect your data.
Federal and state agencies require that the Dealer retain certain
auto loan-related information. Therefore, the Dealer may retain your
information for a period of seven years.
The Need to "Opt Out"
Dealer Assist requires that Dealers not share your information
unless you explicitly tell them to. Participating client
Dealers are required by Dealer Assist, Inc. to sign agreements
stipulating that no Dealer will distribute, sell, or otherwise
release your information to third party marketers. Therefore,
there is no need for you to opt out of information sharing.
However, be aware that the law allows any recipient financial
institutions that might become potential lenders (submitted by
Dealers, not Dealer Assist, Inc.) to share your information unless
you tell them not to.
Future
Protection:
We will notify you
of any
future changes to our Privacy Policy that will affect how we treat
your information. Your ability to opt out of the new policy
will be determined by applicable laws which will be included in our
notification. If the change impacts how your information
might be used, the participating Dealer will be required to notify
you even if you have requested that they not contact you.
Other web sites
Finally, there are "hyperlinks" or "links" to other web sites
embedded within our web site. If you choose to click on one of
these links, you will be governed by the privacy policy of the
linked web site, even if the content is framed within our Web site.
